The Lowry Goebels Furniture Co. on 5th near Race.
This real photo postcard says on the front and side of the truck "Herbert Furniture 3942 - 44 Spring Grove Avenue". This seems like this should remove any questions about this card except for one thing. One of my sources for information on my cards is a 1915 copy of the Cincinnati Industrial, Mercantile and Professional Register. This register says that the Herbert Hardware Co. was at 3942 Spring Grove Avenue. So I can only come to the conclusion that at the time of this postcard, (after 1915), Mr. Herbert had changed professions, from hardware to the moving business.
J. P. Zimmerman & Sons were antique furniture specialists and they also did upholstery. Their business was located at 624 Main Street.

The two cards above are strangely connected. The Kraemer numbers (312-313) indicate they were produced at the same time. The subject matter on the front is closely related and the wording on the backs are identical except for the store's name. I have never seen this before and is very puzzling. Any possible explanations would be appreciated.

This somewhat unusual post card from The Frank F. Taylor Mfg. Co. is for two different Taylor-Tot products for the price of one. You tore off the stud on the end and remailed it. It appears that another piece was already detached along the top.

The 3 images you see in the 1st 1910 postcard can be seen in greater detail in the drawings below that were used to make the card.

The J. M. McCullough Seeds were located at 136 Walnut St. in 1875 and by the time of the 2nd image below, in 1895, the Company had expanded next door at 134 Walnut St. The interior postcard above has the J. M. McCullough Co. moving to 316 Walnut Street by the time of this card (1909). I have not determined, yet, what the relationship between Charles McCullough Seeds and J. M. McCullough Seeds were but there are too many coincidences for them not to be related.

STEWART IRON WORKS
Stewart Iron Works-3rd, 4th, Culvert and Eggleston
Avenues
The Stewart Iron Works was founded in 1886 and is still in Business in Covington Kentucky. At one time the company had plants in Cincinnati, Wichita, Kansas and Covington KY. In the late 1800s the Kansas plant burned down and the Cincinnati plant located along the Miami Erie Canal closed in 1914 due to the canals closing. As can be seen in the ad below one of the marquee products manufactured by the company were jail cells. They made the cells for Alcatraz, Leavenworth, Sing Sing and many other prisons.
