1964 REDS TEAM
For the first time I am starting to see some of these cards with a blank back. They may be in earlier issues but I have not come across them yet. I understand that these photos were sold in the Red's Gift Shop and were also sent to fans requesting photos of their Reds. By 1967 the postcard back had been eliminated. I was able to obtain a large collection of the blank back version at a relatively cheap price so I bought them. These cards are otherwise exact duplicates of those with postcard backs. Ray Shore is the only one with a postcard back (so far). Ray Shore may belong 1n 1963 because the Ray Shore card there is a blank back and may belong here.

1965 REDS TEAM
I have, once again managed to obtain nearly all of the 1965 team issued postcards, although this time the cards in the now familiar envelope contained 13 cards that are blank on the back. I am guessing the Reds were possibly testing these cards by selling them in the Gift Shop. Remember that after the 1966 issue all the following issues did not contain a postcard back. They are otherwise exact duplicates of those with postcard backs.

The Darrell Osteen card may belong with the 1966 set. This card has a Kodak postcard back so he may have paid for these himself.

1966 REDS TEAM
Like several other teams, the 1966 team postcards came in the envelope above. This set purportedly came from the family of Gordy Coleman.

Helms 1964-71
The check list I am using for these cards lists both of the Helms cards in 1966. There is no listing for him in his earlier years with the Reds and I find this rather odd. If someone can explain this I would appreciate it.

1967 ISSUES & UP
The 1966 team issue was the last of the postcards. From 1967 to 1975 the Reds issues were all blank backed postcard sized photographs. I will put the cards that I obtained before I was aware of this fact below. Most dealers will call these postcards, but they are not.

There are always exceptions to every rule. Below is a Joe Morgan 1974 photo that was converted to a postcard which, of course, you can do with any photograph that has the shape of a postcard it still does not make them postcards.
